How to reach Chopta Tungnath?
One can visit here from May to November. Although the journey can be done during the rest of the time, due to the snowfall, the vehicle travel is less and the walk is more. In the months of January and February also one can go to enjoy the snow here. There is no direct bus from Delhi to Chopta. Because of this, you have to first book a bus from Delhi to Dehradun, Rishikesh, Devprayag, Srinagar, or Haridwar.
Wherever you find the bus, you can book it. From the bus stand where you landed, book another bus to Ukhimath. Once you reach Ukhimath, you will find many local taxis to Chopta. Chopta from Haridwar can be reached here by any one of the two routes-
- Haridwar-Rishikesh to Gopeshwar. The distance from Rishikesh to Gopeshwar is 212 kilometers and then from Gopeshwar to Chopta is forty kilometers further, which is connected by road.
- Haridwar- Rishikesh via Ukhimath. The distance from Rishikesh to Ukhimath is 178 kilometers and then from Ukhimath to Chopta is twenty-four kilometers, which is connected by road.

By Train: The nearest railway station to Chopta is Rishikesh, Haridwar, and Dehradun at a distance of 200 km.
